India

India is the acid test for any traveler. You will either love it or hate it, but it is guaranteed to change your perspective on the world. You can’t wait to leave when you’re there, you won’t be able to wait to come back once you’ve left. No other nation polarizes to this extent all at once.

My trips to India have generally taken me to North India – particularly to New Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra – all of which are fascinating for a travel and landscape photographer, with each offering a unique blend of history, culture, and stunning architectural wonders perfect for capturing memorable images.

India’s capital New Delhi combines modernity with rich heritage, presenting a diverse range of subjects to photograph, including iconic landmarks like the India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb, and the Qutub Minar. Jaipur – the “Pink City,” – is renowned for its magnificent palaces, forts, and ornate architecture. Photographers will be captivated by the intricate designs of the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the grandeur of the Amber Fort, and the opulent City Palace. Agra is home to the Taj Mahal – a white marble mausoleum, architectural masterpiece and UNESCO World Heritage site that is one of the most recognizable buildings in the world, while also being home to Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.
