I had taken a sunset tour of the Borobudur temple. At the end of the evening, when the sun had dipped well and truly below the horizon, and everyone else had headed back to their homes and hotels, I stopped to turn around and take this long exposure shot from the entrance… a far cry from a monument bustling with tourists from far and wide. This was shot with available light and required a 10s exposure.

Borobudur sits in a valley between two volcanoes. One of them is Mount Sindara which is lit up every day at both sunrise and sunset. The region is regularly visited by clouds that bring rain to the area. When the light is just perfect, they can offer quite the sight to behold.
